Version 2.4: Audio and Video posts for iOS
Today we released version 2.4 of BandFriend for iOS. Just in time for the holidays we added new major features to our posts section. The first thing you will see is that there are now four post buttons instead of two. We added audio and video posts!
For audio posts you can now either select a SoundCloud track from your profile ( if you already added your SoundCloud account ) or you can search tracks via SoundCloud. Once you selected a SC track, you are re-directed to the familiar post screen where you can see a waveform thumbnail image of the track you just selected. Of course you can now write a message which is posted alongside with the music track.
We’ve added something similar for video posts. You can also select a YouTube video from your profile ( if you already added your YouTube account ) but probably more interesting is the ability to search on YouTube for music/musician related videos. Once you see the search results, you can either watch the video right there within BandFriend or select the video to post it. As with SoundCloud you will be re-directed to the post screen where you now will see a video thumbnail. Write some comment about it and send it off for others to see.
But that’s not all. If you find interesting videos or audio on somebodies profile, you can post those too. And, naturally the post screen has been updated to allow to simultaneously post audio and video to your Facebook or Twitter account. Once the post is live, you can see the new audio and video posts in your activity stream.
This update is currently only available on iOS. We are planning to release the Android update for this early 2014.
